Pravaah Vegan Food Fest at Pune
Pravaah Vegan Food Fest at Pune, organized by Green Business Pages (the largest directory of sustainability oriented businesses in India) with Bell Peppers (a vegan cloud kitchen) and Sustainable Lifestyle Store was held from 5-7 March, 2021.
Details
Food from various places. There’s Bell Peppers, which is my little cloud kitchen which I started in 2018. Our vegan cakes are quite a hit in the town! Then there’s some vegan ice cream and cheese from the Real Green Kitchen, which was the first vegan cafe in Pune.
Apart from food, the venue, that is Sustainable Lifestyle Store, has a range of organic vegetables and groceries, eco-friendly lifestyle products, and much more. It is a store run by three partners–Niranjan Upasani, Bhushan and Rohan Khatu.
Idea Behind The Fest
“The biggest idea was the promotion of a change in lifestyle that is taking place in an urban space like Pune. Especially after Covid, a lot of people have growth a lot more conscious about their health and food habits, and I believe that veganism is a healthy diet alternative.” Says Ashutosh Nirvadyaachari, Founder, green Business Pages.
Bell peppers has always aimed at making vegan food affordable–so fests are a great way to create awareness. He continued, “Sustainability, too, is important, seeing the way climate change is affecting our lives–we see it around us. So I believe businesses need to change the way they operate now and really try to stop producing as much waste and reduce as much carbon footprint as possible.”
Venue
The setup had food stalls and the shop, with all kinds of sustainable and vegans packaged goods and samples that we have to offer. In the light of increasing Covid cases, what guidelines will be followed at the fest.
For one, the team is encouraging Pravaah fest from home, where people can just order online through getmoksha.com, and it can be delivered all over the city. In the premise, we are following all the basic protocols, such as maintaining sanitation, social distancing, and accepting people in 50% capacity.
