Seminar Refers to Ancient Texts To Reignite Compassionate Living

A collaborative seminar-workshop organized by JITO in Mumbai featured a panel of experts who focussed on compassion, enlightenment and misinterpreted religious facts to guide participants towards better health and living.

 Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) ladies wing Gwalior tank chapter organised a seminar on veganism and ‘Understanding Jainism’ philosophy in Mumbai on 14 March 2020. The event was to enable participants to understand natural disease reversal and how to reconnect to ahimsa philosophy and compassionate way of living.

“We Are Diseased”

The panel of speakers was led by Pradeep Shah, Speaker at New Diet System and Co-Founder of Ahimsa Parmo Dharma group explained, “We are diseased because of wrong diet and lifestyle, Jainism if understood and applied in true sense, it’s possible to easily reverse existing diseases and experience Health Happiness and Bliss.”

Various references from Jain Agam Sutras­–Vighai Tyag–were presented to encourage people to eliminate animal-based products like meat, honey, butter, milk, curd and ghee. Shah also cited several various references in regards to refraining from cruelty were also given. All this was said more than 2,500 years ago. Today, the conditions have worsened. The dairy industry comprises adulterated milk, synthetic milk and cruelty, which makes it impossible for people with sensitivity to consume milk and dairy products.

‘Milk Equals Meat’ Truth Compels 4 To Go Vegan

The final panel speaker, Dr Rupa Shah, Founder of circleOhealth, and co-founder of Ahimsa Parmo Dharma Group elaborated on the common myths around proteins, calcium, vitamins and veganism. The second part of the seminar comprised food demos, which was led by raw food expert, Meena Shah, who demonstrated options for vegan milk, milk shakes, buttermilk, raita and also various other delicious fireless recipes. One of the highlights of the seminar was a food demo by health coach, Jinal Rathod, Kitchen Doctor, who also demonstrated whole food recipes that enthralled the audience. The event concluded with an interactive session. The session inspired many participants to consider their food habits and four participants pledged to become vegan that day.
