US-based World Vegan Vision to launch Mumbai chapter

Wellness Seminar-cum-Launch will be held on 19 January 2020.

New York-based non-profit organization, World Vegan Vision (WVV) will be launching its Mumbai chapter with a wellness seminar on 19 January 2020. The seminar event to be held at Garware Club House, will honour WVV Founder, HK Shah and Malti Shah. The seminar will feature organization president, Dr Shrenik Shah, a practicing internist and vegan for almost two decades. The speaker panel also comprises vegan physician and counsellor, Dr Rashmi Menon.

The event is supported by philanthropist Harshad Parekh and Core Group Members of Ahimsa Parmo Dharma Group and Dr Rupa Shah.  Launched in 1992 as World Vegetarian Society, the organization has expanded its vision and re-titled its name to WVV recently.  It is focussed on promoting the vegan way of life to younger generations and encourage them to prevent cruelty to animals and  save the planet.  WVV aims to expand its global footprint to India . They are expected to launch the Ahmedabad chapter on 9 February and the Bangalore chapter by the end of the year.

Founder HK Shah stated, “We aim to create awareness about the benefits of an ahimsa-based lifestyle in India now. We have 3 chapters across the US and have organized five events last year. We are supported and we have collaborated with many other organizations and supported their activities. We are working to make a change to have more vegan food variety available in restaurants, hospitals and major institutions.”

“The vegan movement in India is growing faster every day. We are delighted to see more organizations join forces with us in India. It is heartening to have Shri HK Shah join hands with us in our endeavours”, said Dr Rupa Shah, one of the supporters and co-organizers of the event.

The leading speaker Dr Shrenik Shah, a practicing internist, and president of WVV brings a wealth of medical and dietary knowledge and experience about vegan lifestyle. He will be speaking about diabetes, BP and cholesterol.

He said, “We are now expanding in our home base – India , as we have found tremendous support and awareness locally in Mumbai synchronizing with our ultimate goal of compassion for all.  We are proud to have been able to discover great personalities like Nanditaji and Dr Rupa Shah who have done exemplary work in this field and our goal is to work in conjunction with them and many others to ultimately spread the message of compassion in the world and ultimately bring world peace.”

The second speaker, Dr Rashmi Menon is a qualified Medical Doctor and a Certified plant-based disease reversal expert, specializing in Homoeopathy, with an in depth knowledge of psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy. Her talk will focus on cancer case studies, reversing renal issues, PCOD and fibroids.

High tea and vegan snacks will be served.
